MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 20TH JUNE 2006 IN MERKINCH COMMUNITY CENTRE COMMENCING AT 4:15PM

There were no matters arising.

Update on CRF Applications
SKEC WATERFRONT CENTRE
More detail required for application form. G Strachan to draw up a draft lease document. The directors to contact environmental groups for support, advice and input. The group to meet with funders on a more regular basis. SKEC can start making funding applications for proposed Centre Manager's post.
SKEC BUSINESS PLAN
G Strachan to meet with SKEC Chairperson and Project Officer to discuss actions and timescales for the new Centre. Overall planning strategy needs to be drawn up, A Sutherland and C Downie to take this forward.
MERKINCH COMMUNITY CENTRE - GYM HALL
Highland Council will purchase the equipment. Discussions are ongoing re. staffing. The Community Centre is putting a Project Team together to work on the programming, uses and activities for the new space. The team will include Community Centre users, members of the wider community, the Project Officer and the Arts Officer.
MERKINCH COMMUNITY CENTRE - COMMUNITY VOICES
Application withdrawn. No further action.
ARTS IN MERKINCH
Outputs and Outcomes have been submitted, application approved.
MERKINCH ENTERPRISE-PROJECT OFFICER POST
Application approved.
ESCAPE GROUP
Application has been adjusted to reduce total funding request. The group will no longer apply for funding for the co-ordinator's post and are looking into reducing childcare and venue costs. CRF of £7,352 (match funding) awarded, pending a statement of expenditure for the Summer Programme. Merkinch Partnership to contact Working for Families in writing re. the possibility of applying for funding to help with childcare costs.

CRF applications - new projects
WELFARE HALL
Highland Council Area Budget to contribute £2,000, CRF of £4,000 approved.
MERKINCH YOUTH MATTERS
More clarity is required on "Training and Development Opportunities". CRF of £900 awarded (match funding). Application will require more details of future aims and activities. The group should acknowledge CRF and Merkinch Partnership on any leaflets printed.
JANNY'S HOOSE
Application approved.
NEWSTART
Application presented, will be considered at next meeting.

Membership of Partnership
Members of the community interested in the Partnership can attend meetings before making a decision on joining. The committee acknowledged that current members of the Partnership are representatives of local community groups and have declared their interest prior to discussing funding applications. The Partnership members are representing the wider Merkinch community and not individual groups.

It was agreed that the deadline for new applications will be 1 week before any funding meeting.
