MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON 6TH MARCH 2007 IN MERKINCH COMMUNITY CENTRE COMMENCING AT 4:15PM
PRESENT:
Cllr Peter Corbett, Graham Strachan, Ross McGillivray, Bob MacKinnon, Clair Pieraccini, Anne Sutherland, Nikki Gilbert, Colin Downie, Alistair Locke.

Welcome
PC opened the meeting. Welcomed Ivor Bissett & Lisa Baxter from the community to observe the meeting.

GS - Grant Street Car Park - work starts next week GS - Family Resources Centre - training for everybody. Some costs can be covered this year - figure for this to be sent to BMac Minutes agreed by Board

MDV - good response to adverts. 3 for the Marketing position, 5 for the Project Worker and 10 for the Manager Minutes agreed by Board

CRF
Black Bridge Bike Project - revised application
40 weeks tutor cost is the main expense on the project. Possible for bikes to be recycled within Merkinch. Query over regeneration & sustainability, although precedent on this has been set with the Escape Projects and Youth Groups.
Merkinch CC, Youth Bank and MP33 are involved and have given funding. Potential of link to REAL Project. Board agreed to fund the project
SKEC Consultants Brief
Area committee have agreed to let land for peppercorn rent. There have been a small number of formal objections to Waterfront Centre. There is no availability to take this on from the consultants that have been approached. Board agreed to fund the project and SKEC meeting next week.
Arts in Merkinch - revised application
Looking for further funding for more projects. At the moment the original application for Core Staff Costs is approved. The extra £5K for Artist in Residence is not applicable due to lack of information. Query over income. £7962 is additional fund requested. Looking to set themselves up separate to Merkinch Enterprise. They will then get a bank account in order to apply to Awards for All and other funders.
Board agreed funding subject to clarification of some of the costs.
GS to have meeting with AS and Annie
Easter Rock School - Merkinch Community Centre
Encouraging & training musicians - song writing, etc.
Encourage them to accept fist customers from Merkinch.
Board agreed to fund the project. Understood smaller version will take place if no Arts Council funding.

Family Support Network - CAB Services
They have now met on two occasions. Seeking to maintain contact with the organisations involved with families. Have agreed to meet regularly. Looking into CAB Services. GS to find out more and report back at next Board Meeting.

Monitoring Evaluation
AS is currently filing in her monitoring sheet and then these sheets will be sent out to all projects. Groups will need to fill these out before the end of June for the Annual Report.

Gym Hall Project - Looking to get the money out this year.Agreed OK if substantially delivered.
