Welcome to the Merkinch community web site. This site serves and promotes the community of Merkinch and has been created for the local residents, ex-Merkinchers and visitors alike, or indeed anyone who is interested in this area of Inverness steeped in a rich, colourful history.
Merkinch lies in the north west of the City of Inverness, to the west of the tidal estuary of the River Ness.
Crossing the "Black Bridge" takes you into to this colourful area of Inverness with such attractions as Clachnacuddin Football Club, the Dolphin Point and the Muirtown Basin with its yachts and barges.
Surrounded by fabulous views, to the north you are in for a treat, with stunning views over the Moray Firth, Black Isle and on towards the Highland mountains of Ross and Cromarty. Looking south, you will see the commanding outline of Inverness Castle and the city of Inverness itself sprawling over the flowing foothills of the Great Glen.
Please let us know what you think of our site by sending an email to webmaster@merkinch.info of by filling out our feedback form.
